Helping Your Customers Look For An Item

Avoid: Wait, I help you find.
Say: Please wait for a while. I’ll find it for you. 

It’s common to hear busy but helpful sales staff saying “Wait, I help you find”.

This sentence isn’t Standard English.

Using the word “Wait” at the start of the sentence also sounds like a command.

It can sound unfriendly, especially coming from a service staff.

Instead, we should be saying, “Please wait for a while. I’ll find it for you.”
