This parent-child programme focused on the joy and benefits of using rhymes, songs, and stories to enhance the language and communication abilities in young children below 18 months old.
Partner Programme – SGEM Pamphlets & Posters For Retailers
Partner: Singapore Retailers Association (SRA)
In conjunction with the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 2006, SRA produced and distributed Speak Good English pamphlets and posters in September to its members and their staff to encourage the use of standard English at the workplace.
Partner Programme – Singapore's Favourite 100 Words
Partner: British Council
Building on the very successful "70 Favourite Words" held in 2005, British Council extended the scope of the island-wide campaign to discover Singapore’s top 100 English words in 2006.
Partner Programme – Walk And Talk
Partner: British Council
British Council organised a ‘Walk and Talk’ competition during the year-end holidays in November 2006 to February 2007 to encourage Primary, Secondary and pre-university students to use expressive English.
Partner Programme – “English As It Is Broken” (The Sunday Times)
Partners: Ministry of Education (MOE) & Singapore Press Holdings (SPH)
MOE and SPH jointly introduced a new weekly column in the Gen Y page of The Sunday Times in 2006 to address readers’ queries on the usage of English.
