Partner Programme – Success With Presentations
Partner: British Council
In a fun and interactive workshop by the British Council, 8 to 12 year-old children learnt how to apply the strategies needed to communicate and present their ideas clearly and confidently.
Partner Programme – The DRAMAzing Race 2
Partner: Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA)
The DRAMAzing Race is back! Participants worked in teams of 4 to decipher clues at 10 different library locations around Singapore to accomplish various tasks through the use of good spoken English and creativity.
Partner Programme – The Hamburger Model: A Story Writing Workshop
Partner: Creative Culture Consultants
Ms Angeline Tan from Creative Culture Consultants taught 7 to 10-year old children how to develop interesting storylines and write a story. The workshop was filled with story-telling and hands-on activities, and the children had a chance to share their ideas and express themselves creatively.
Partner Programme – The Little Red Hen
Partner: MERCU Learning Point
In this workshop conducted by Ms Faridah from MERCU Learning Point, children aged 6 to 8 years old listened to the story of The Little Red Hen, then re-created the story in their own creative way.
Partner Programme – The Race
Partners: Singapore Drama Educators Association (SDEA) & National Library Board (NLB)
A total of 108 students aged between 13 to 15 years old participated in ‘The Race’ jointly organised by the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM), SDEA and NLB. Teams of 4 from 25 secondary schools, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) and Boy’s Town raced around Singapore to accomplish various tasks in creative ways at community libraries around Singapore.
