Partner Programme – Listen And Learn
Partner: Morris Allen Study Centres
How can we learn to speak and write good English in our colloquial environment? In this session, Mr Morris Allen, principal of Morris Allen Study Centres, imparted some easy strategies to parents to improve their English so they can be good role models for their children.
Partner Programme – National PowerPoint Presentation Competition 2005
Partner: Temasek Polytechnic
Both Upper and Lower Secondary students had a chance to exercise their creativity at the National PowerPoint Presentation Competition 2005 organised by the Temasek Information Technology School in affiliation with the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM). Students were invited to craft an audio-visual presentation of 8 to 10 minutes on a given topic using Microsoft PowerPoint and Producer software.
Partner Programme – Phonics Fun Time
Partner: Zoo-Phonics School
Ms Margaret Ong from Zoo-phonics School introduced children aged 3 to 5 years old and their parents to seven basic phonetic sounds through exciting games and stories.
Partner Programme – Raise-A-Reader Workshop
Partner: National Library Board (NLB)
NLB conducted a workshop for parents and caregivers on how to create a conducive reading environment for children at home.
Partner Programme – READi Course For Reading Facilitators
Partner: Society for Reading & Literacy (SRL)
READi is a project by SRL to reach out to children with reading difficulties. Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 2005 supported READi by offering partial sponsorships to deserving volunteers who had attended the 2-month Course for Reading Facilitators.
