25 June 2008 - Mr Goh Eck Kheng, Publisher of Landmark Books Pte Ltd, has been appointed as
Chairman of the SGEM committee for the term starting 1 March 2008 till 30 April 2010.
He succeeds Professor Koh Tai Ann.

31 July 2007 – At the official launch of the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) today, Minister of State for Education, RAdm (NS) Lui Tuck Yew emphasised the importance of making good English a part of our everyday lives, stating that good English should go beyond functioning as a pragmatic tool.

24 July 2007 - The Speak Good English Movement or SGEM launches their movement and programmes this year with a new theme and graphic. The seventh year of the campaign marks the evolution of SGEM’s efforts to have Singaporeans speak and use good English by also looking at the language of the heart.
