The ABCs of Pronunciation

In a partnership with the Speak Good English Movement and National Library Board, Jan & Elly put up a series of 4 workshops at 4 Public Libraries entitled The ABCs of Pronunciation, advocating good English pronunciation and diction so that Singaporeans can understand and use proper English pronunciation in an international environment.

Speakers: Elly Sim, Founder and Director, Jan & Elly, and Paul Ankenmann, Senior Teacher & Centre Manager, Jan & Elly

These casual interactive workshops highlight the basic principles of English pronunciation by using simeple phonemic awareness techniques. Participants learn about commonly mispronounced words by Singaporeans and why they happen, and get tips on how to avoid mispronouncing them.
