"English As It Is Broken" (The Sunday Times)
Partners: Ministry of Education (MOE) & Singapore Press Holdings (SPH)
MOE and SPH jointly introduced a new weekly column in the Gen Y page of The Sunday Times in 2006 to address readers’ queries on the usage of English.
Sunday Times editors worked closely with a panel of English language experts from MOE to produce this column every week starting from 30 July. Examples are drawn from pop culture with a conversational tone.
In a bid to improve access to literacy, 50,000 copies of Sunday Times were also delivered to homes of low income, non-newspaper subscribing families.
