The Speak Good English Movement is always on the lookout for new and exciting programmes to help Singaporeans speak well. We have many partner organisations that help develop and organise free programmes/events to help people of various ages and needs improve their English. Carnival Speak! Speak Good English Movement 2005 Launch

In conjunction with the launch of Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 2005 on 13th May, a weekend of fun-filled activities was lined up for the public at the HDB Hub Mall. They had a chance to sample the various creative ways that make learning English more enjoyable for adults and children alike. All activities were free and on a first come, first served basis.

Venue: HDB Hub Mall, Toa Payoh

SGEM partners such as the British Council, Schools Scrabble Club and National Library Board chipped in with a range of activities, such as:

  • interactive storytelling for children by the Asian Storytelling Network
  • Giant Scrabble and Crack The Code contests by the British Council
  • Tongue Twister Family Challenge by the Society for Reading & Literacy
  • Spelling Bee and Knowledge Test by the National Library Board
  • Best Reading Parent Contest
  • talks and workshops for parents, children and working adults
