What is the difference between ‘coarse’ and ‘course’?
‘Coarse‘ is an adjective (a word to describe another item), and ‘course‘ is a noun (the name of an item).
‘Coarse‘ usually refers to materials that are rough or harsh in texture, for example: “The beach has rough, coarse sand.”
‘Course‘, however, refers to a route or path to, for example: “We did not know which course of action to take.”
