2007/08: Rock Your World
- To raise awareness of the importance of speaking and using good English in our daily lives and to make speaking good English a lifestyle choice.
- To encourage everyone, especially our youth to express themselves not just with functional language but also with the language of the heart, to say what they feel, not just what they think and analyse.
- This year we have identified youth as the key target group. Beyond having good English for education and work, we want them to be able to use English to communicate well with each other and build happy, healthy relationships.
- Parents and teachers are especially important as they are the main facilitators and educators of youth, and play a vital role in the adoption and usage of good English by youth.
- Frontline staff have also been given attention as they are the interface between the public and the organisations they represent.
- Rock Your World is held at Timbre Music Bistro & Bar, the official venue.
- Stomp! will provide publicity for the Rock Your World programmes.
- 987FM will present 987HOME, the one and only radio show dedicated to music made in Singapore.
- Ensure Singaporeans recognise the importance of speaking Standard English
- Encourage Singaporeans to speak Standard English
