Phone-In Lessons 2002
Through these 30 lessons, a group of young, dynamic whiz kids at HotDotCom, a fictional internet portal company, will bring you on their adventures and misadventures when using the English language.
Among the staff at HotDotCom are:
• Mei Ling, the Singaporean Managing Director
• Jaya the Indian Webmaster
• Jane, the recently arrived British Marketing Manager
• Nora, the Singaporean secretary, and
• Gary, the Singaporean admin assistant
Each lesson takes a humorous approach while conveying a serious message to “Speak Well. Be Understood”. In addition, look for the quiz point, which is unexplained in the audio clip, at the end of the script for each lesson.
The Phone-in Lessons are a series of 60 lessons developed by The British Council in association with the Speak Good English Movement in 2001 and 2002.
Lessons may be downloaded only for self-improvement or educational purposes. They may not be distributed without the permission of The British Council and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA).
