- ‘Walk And Talk’ – Division 3 Winners
Watch winning videos by Secondary 3 – tertiary students for this British Council Competition. Students had to create a two-minute audio recording of a short walk in Singapore describing the sights, sounds, smells and especially feelings to the atmosphere of the walk. - Singapore's 60 Favourite Words Contest
British Council is celebrating its 60th anniversary in Singapore this year. To mark this special occassion, they launched an online contest for the public to vote for their favourite Engilsh words. One lucky entrant will win a grand prize of a pair of return tickets to the UK.

The Golden Point Award is Singapore’s premiere creative writing competition.
- Walk And Talk Competition
Partner: British Council British Council organised a ‘Walk And Talk’ competition during the year-end holidays in November 2006 to February 2007 to encourage Primary, Secondary and pre-university students to use expressive English.
- Walk And Talk Competition
This was a competition that got students talking! They had to vividly recreate the experience of a walk somewhere in Singapore in two-minute audio recordings.
- "Express Yourself" Workshops
Partner: British Council In conjunction with the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 2006, British Council rolled out a series of 6 workshops on emotional literacy for young adults, featuring local and foreign celebrities.
- Getting To Know The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
Partner: National Institute of Education (NIE) A 2-hour workshop on the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) was conducted for the public to introduce them to the sounds and symbols of the English Language through related activities, games and puzzles.
- Is Your Child Reading Enough?
Partners: Reading Specialists Association (RSA) & National Library Board (NLB) The Reading Specialists Association (RSA), in partnership with the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 2006 and NLB, organised a half-day free forum for parents, tutors, teachers, caregivers and educators on helping children to reach their personal potential as readers.
