We have many partner organisations that help develop and organise free programmes/events to help people of various ages and needs improve their English. Buddy Reading

Partner: Tampines Primary School Buddy readers from Tampines Primary School introduced 4 to 6 year old pre-schoolers to interesting books.

Reading Aloud: The Whys And Hows

Partner: Society for Reading & Literacy (SRL) Does it really make a difference whether one reads aloud or reads silently? Which method is better? Does the age of the child make a difference? Are picture books childish? Do you need special training to read aloud?

Fun With Tots

Partner: National Library Board (NLB) In these fun-filled sessions, parents and their toddlers were introduced to books suitable for children aged 1 to 3 years old. NLB librarians also taught the parents rhymes that they could ‘boogie’ to at home with their toddlers.

Developing Effective Reading Skills At A Young Age

Partner: MERCU Learning Point & National Library Board (NLB) Rajeswary Vijay from MERCU Learning Point and NLB organised a session to help foster and encourage the love for reading in 3 to 8 year olds.

Communication Within The Family

Partner: Julia Gabriel Speech & Drama Centre Are you too busy to talk to your children? Do you watch TV together, but don’t read together? Is your children’s homework more important than anything else? What values are you signalling to your children?

Tell Me A Story

Partner: National Library Board (NLB) Mr Peter Chan from NLB shared imaginative storytelling techniques with parents to help them narrate stories to their children in different ways.

Playback Theatre

Partner: Fei Yue Family Service Centre Families gathered at this fun and interactive session to share their stories and strengthen their family bonds.

Spark A Reading Interest In Your Child

Partner: Society for Reading & Literacy (SRL) Ms Catrouna, a speech & drama educator, and SRL jointly organised a fun and interactive session to develop a child’s language, artistic expression and poetry appreciation skills through music, movement, activities and games.

Making Reading Enjoyable For Toddlers!

Partner: NTUC Childcare, Kim Keat Centre Parents and children had tons of fun at a parent-child reading workshop conducted by NTUC Childcare. Parents learnt how to make reading enjoyable for their 2 to 4 year old toddlers by inculcating good reading habits in them, and children developed a passion for reading.
