Parents always want the best for their children and try to ensure that they attain all the necessary skills needed in the path to adulthood. This is especially true when it comes to language development and from early childhood through to graduation, parents are the most active influencers in the language learning process. It is only natural then, that as experienced language users having maximum contact with their children, parents are best placed to affect their children’s language development.
Yet, while parents may wish to play a more active role, they lack the pedagogical knowledge of a teacher and are often confused as to how precisely, to go about helping their children learn their first and in some cases their second language? In order to assist parents to help their children, this talk will focus on the 10 best methods that parents can use to teach their children to speak good English.
