To encourage Singaporeans to speak grammatically correct English that is universally understood, the Speak Good English Movement works closely with its partners to run events and programmes and develop learning content.

Run Events & Programmes

Working with different partners every year, we have been successful in reaching out to Singaporeans from all walks of life. A wide range of workshops, seminars, contests and programmes all year round engages Singaporeans to improve their spoken English.

Co-Develop Learning Content

To develop audio lessons, phrases and tips to help people of various ages and needs to improve their English, we also work with partners such as The British Council, Society for Reading and Literacy (SRL) and Singapore Retailers Association.

These lessons and tips are popular with our readers, and we are always on the lookout for partners to collaborate with to produce more learning content.

Our Past Movements Over The Years

Each year, we focus on a different theme and target group to ensure the Movement reaches out to all Singaporeans. For instance, in 2009 the Movement focused on youth with the theme “Impress. Inspire. Intoxicate” – going beyond the use of correct grammar and vocabulary, and using the right words or expressions for the occassion.
